Wow, Room 13 - I can't wait for tomorrow!!!!!!!!!! I went to see Mr Valentine-Burt and get the books he is donating to our collection. My backseat and boot is filled with books. I can't wait for you to see them - it was so nice of him, we are so lucky!
I will need all of Room 13 to help me unload them and then we will have to count our books. When I got home a friend of mine had also dropped off some brand new books. People are so kind! See you in the morning. (We will have to add photos.)

Mangere East Primary School
Miss Rae is very proud of us. We wrote a letter to UHPS and we wrote letters to businesses asking for books. We have collected 370 books so far and $42.50. Pearson, Whitcoulls Albany and Borders Albany have all responded to our letters and given us brand new books. We were very grateful for them to give us free books. Thanks everyone.

Eagle 1
Wednesday 28th June 2010 the Eagle Police helicopter came to our school. It landed on our school field, it was cool. When it landed we went to see the helicopter there after. Then we had a talk. The guy we talked to was Mark.

Decisions!
We chose a new background, half wanted clouds and half wanted swirls. We had a vote and swirls won by one vote.
Style
Do you like our new background?

Day and Night
Room 13 were looking at a news article on tennis. We read about the Wimbledon tennis match that went on for 10 hours. It had just stopped because it's night time in England but we have only just started school. Then we wanted to know how the other side of the world had day and night different to us. We looked at a website.
Then Logan asked "if a house lived in the day, and there was a house in the night, could you live in the middle of day and night? It was a little bit confusing so Miss Rae asked Georgia to get a ball, and Kieran and Logan went to find Mr Benbow to get a torch so we could see how it works. We are typing our new blog post while we wait for a torch. The Sun will be the torch and Earth will be the ball. It was fun to think that when our Mum's and Dad's tell us to get out of our PJ's and get ready for school, that in England parents will be telling their kids take off your school uniform and get in your PJ's and get ready for bed!
